Another Bobby Quote...

Late in 2008, my cousin introduced Bobby to his coffee maker - a Keurig. It was a brand new on the market (at least in our price range) and Bobby fell in love! He had been wanting one and we had been waiting for the price to come down some or at least that was my excuse...until my parents bought one. Bobby couldn't stand it. So, on a Sam's outing back in December (on New Year's Eve to be exact), we bought a Keurig.

These coffee makers are very interesting in that you only brew one cup at a time. Here is a quote from the company's website:

"The word "keurig" is derived from the Dutch word for excellence, and it is our promise to you. Excellence guides everything we do, from our patented single-cup brewing technology, to the gourmet brands of coffee and tea that are packaged in our K-Cup® portion packs, to our customer service.
Today, Keurig® is the leading single-cup brewing system in North America-for both At Home and Away From Home. Now, you can enjoy a fresh cup of gourmet coffee or tea, and hot cocoa Keurig Brewed® in less than a minute, without any set-up or clean-up. Keurig's popular coffee, tea and hot cocoa brands offer hundreds of K-Cups® to choose from, so everyone can have their favorite variety."

So, Bobby drinks way too much coffee each day because of this contraption. He loves it. He named it. Klyde.

Last night we were talking about our vacation in May and Bobby says "Umm, can the Keurig go on vacation too? Because if it doesn't go then I don't go!" That's my Bob.

Pillow Talk

I was making a trip out this afternoon and Bobby asked me to pick up new bed sheets. We had flannel sheets that we both hated so he finally couldn't take it anymore. This idea for new bed sheets turned into a trip for a whole new look for our room. We set out for new pillows, sheets, and a comforter.

Bobby is very picky about his pillows. We went to one store (where they have a whole room just for pillows) and Bobby took turns with each pillow...testing them. I would hand him one (the ones that were on sale of course) and those never felt right but of course he loved the ones that were $112 (for pillows!).

We left empty handed but made one more stop. Bobby compromised his expensive pillow taste and found some great pillows (which were much more reasonable). We also found a super soft down-free comforter in a deep chocolate color. One of the walls in our room is a wine or burgundy color so we used that deep wine color for one set of pillows and I think it turned out fairly nice. We still need artwork for our room but at least we have a theme now!

Bobby, Jimmy, and Vera....

(Jimmy, Bobby, & Vera)
Saturday morning Bobby and our friend, Jimmy, decided to make a potato gun. They went to work designing and building their new toy and within an hour, they had their masterpiece. The gun, now known as Vera, is an interesting contraption. They stuff half of a potato into Vera's barrel and then use a combination of Lysol spray and cheap hairspray to activate the spark from the trigger. They used a small lantern liter as their trigger. I was very surprised Vera didn't blow up in their faces. I managed to catch a couple of pictures and videos (hopefully to come later).
